People on a boat at a Pontoon Open Day outside Boathouse 4

About

Head down to Boathouse 4 in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard for a look around its operational boats on the pontoon. The volunteers and staff will be on hand to tell you about the collection of boats and answer any questions you have.

This is a free event, you don't need to purchase a Portsmouth Historic Dockyard ticket unless you wish to visit any of the other attractions. Whilst you are there, why not book a boat trip on one of the historic boats?

F8, the 1959 Falklands Landing Craft, will be running 20-minute trips at £10 per person. Times: 1pm, 1.40pm, 2.30pm, 3pm and 3.30pm.

Plus, trips on the 1936 High Speed Launch 102 will be available at £100 per person for an hour's high speed ride at 12.30pm.

Motor Gun Boat 81 will also be taking passengers out for an hour-long boat trip at 2pm with individual tickets available to purchase at £130 per person.

Anyone looking to take a boat ride is strongly advised to pre-book in advance to avoid disappointment. Some timings are already sold out or running low on capacity. For remaining allocation you can book on the day with a Visitor Host.
