Local Visitor Economy Partnership

Portsmouth has come together with partners across the region to form the Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton LVEP (Local Visitor Economy Partnership) - and has now been officially accredited by Visit England.

The application was led on the region's behalf by Tourism South East. Together with tourism colleagues across the county we will create an LVEP Destination Management Plan to outline future joint activity.

For Portsmouth, the brand work, tourism business support and marketing activity will all remain local and focussed on the city as well as our Visit Portsmouth partners. Being part of an LVEP enables us to be at the table nationally with other regional LVEPs, collaborate on activity that works better at a regional level, bid for funding opportunities, and share a wealth of information and resources with our local businesses.

The Visit Portsmouth team will hold a position on the 'LVEP Executive Delivery Group' alongside representatives from Tourism South East, Southampton and Winchester.

Background

Visit England has created a portfolio of nationally supported, strategic, and high-performing Local Visitor Economy Partnerships (LVEPs). These will provide strong local leadership and governance in tourism destinations all over the country.

The LVEPs will work in collaboration locally, regionally, and nationally on shared priorities and targets. Their mission is to support and grow the visitor economy through robust destination management, strong stakeholder relationships and clear planning.
