South Parade Pier and the small pier near Fort Cumberland prove popular sites, where you can catch mackerel, bream, bass, mullet, pollack and plenty more besides – and that’s just during summer. Head out at wintertime and you could land whiting, flounders and codling.
Head north of the city to the area around Lakeside and you’ll find angling spots teeming with carp, bream, chub, roach and perch.
