Portsmouth is well served when it comes to getting a taxi. Veezu operates a fleet of local drivers, having taken over from previous firms Aqua Cars and Andi Cars. It runs a service 24/7 and has its own app, as well as a telephone number for bookings. Popular app-based cab company Uber also operates in the city.

These run short services across the island, or can accommodate longer bookings for those travelling further afield (such as to Gatwick or Southampton airports). Clarks Airport Transfers, meanwhile, runs a dedicated service to any UK airport or seaport.

Remember, only use reputable, licensed cab companies. If you're unsure, don't risk it.
