The Old Customs House

About

The warmest of welcomes awaits you as you step back in time with a visit to this protected ancient monument. Now fully refurbished, and offering a fantastic selection of classic and modern culinary delights. Real food, Real ales, Real Englsih pub- perfect!

One of Portsmouth's original naval buildings, The Old Customs House is always ready to serve. So whether you fancy tucking into their quality cuisine or sampling any of their ales, wines, softs or spirits, they won't let you down. Settle into one of their sofas and see just what they mean.

The Old Customs House is in the heart of Gunwharf Quays. Steeped in history dating back to 1790 it is the oldest building on the site. Now a special place to many people for many reasons, from friends reuniting, engagement parties, award ceremonies, corporate events, birthdays, weddings as well as celebrations of life.

Food
Their talented kitchen team combine classic hearty comfort food and refined restaurant dishes, changing on a regular basis to make the most of fresh seasonal produce. Popular dishes include beer battered fish and ships, home-made steak ale and mushroom pie, sea salt and thyme roast chicken, traditional local sausages with mashed potato, sharing boards include a sausage platter and farmers board with English cheeses. Why not try their Eton Mess or a delicious Treacle Tart.

Drinks
Their bar provides a fine selection of beers kept to the highest standards winning The Master Cellarman accolade, as well as having their very own dedicated Beer & Cider Sommelier Landlord Paul Stephens. Wine connoisseurs can choose from a hand-picked selection of fine red, white or rosé wines bespoke to Fuller’s. We boast the biggest selection of gins available in Gunwharf Quays, and a knowledgeable team who can provide the perfect serve.
