Visitor Survey prize draw
Visit Portsmouth is running a competition as part of its annual Visitor Survey. Open to all those who receive and fully complete the survey, the competition offers the chance to win a trip to Portsmouth and entry to some top attractions.
The prize package is a one-night B&B stay at the Royal Maritime Hotel for two people, plus entry to top city attractions: Spinnaker Tower (with High Tea, worth £80) and The D-Day Story.
All entries will be collected via the Visitor Survey and a draw will be made from all entries once the survey has closed.
Visit Portsmouth assumes that all entrants have read and adhered to below terms and conditions.
Rules
Entrants must be UK residents and aged 18 years old or over at the time of entry.
Only one entry per person will be accepted. Entrants may be disqualified entirely if multiple entries are submitted.
Entrants must provide their email address at the end of the Visitor Survey 2025. Entrants will choose whether they wish to be added to the Visit Portsmouth mailing list or not, this decision will have no bearing on the eventual prize draw result, which will be drawn at random from all valid entries.
The competition is not open to members of the Visit Portsmouth team at Portsmouth City Council, nor employees of the Royal Maritime Hotel, Spinnaker Tower or The D-Day Story.
One winner will be drawn at random from all valid entries on Monday 15 December. They will be messaged on the email address provided and have one week to accept the prize. If there's no response or the winner is no longer able to accept the prize then the draw will be made again.
Visit Portsmouth reserves the right to amend these terms at any point during the promotion.
Prize
The prize is for an overnight stay at the Royal Maritime Hotel (with breakfast), plus entry for two people to Spinnaker Tower and The D-Day Story.
Transport to and from Portsmouth, parking, or any other related costs, are not included in the prize.
The prize cannot be transferred or exchanged, but the accommodation date is flexible - subject to availability. This will be agreed upon between the winner and Royal Maritime Hotel.
The accommodation prize include includes:
• One night in a classic double room for two
• Full English breakfast for two
The prize is subject to availability - the winner and Royal Maritime Hotel will liaise on a date once the prize has been accepted. It must be booked in advance, either via email: info@royalmaritimehotel.co.uk or telephone: 02392 982 182.
The prize is for a Classic Room only, valid until 30 November 2026.
At the Spinnaker Tower the winner will enjoy delicious treats and breath-taking views across Portsmouth Harbour and the Solent from 105 metres above sea level with a High Tea (worth £80). The prize includes all day admission to Spinnaker Tower where you can discover the history behind the view.
No alternative prizes will be offered and the prize cannot be exchanged.
Terms and Conditions
- The promoter
The promoter is: Portsmouth City Council of Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth, PO1 2AL (the "Promoter").
- The prize draw
There is one prize.
Entries must be submitted via the Visitor Survey 2025.
- How to enter
The prize draw will run from 10:00 (BST) on 19 November 2025 (the "Opening Time") to 19:00 (BST) on 14 December 2025 (the "Closing Time") inclusive.
All prize draw entries must be received by the Promoter by no later than the Closing Time. All prize draw entries received after the Closing Time are automatically disqualified.
To enter the prize draw, entrants must complete the survey in full and provide a valid email address by which they can be contacted if they win.
Prize draw entry is free of charge.
The Promoter will not accept responsibility for prize draw entries that are lost, mislaid or damaged, regardless of cause.
By submitting an entry, all entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
The Promoter will select a winner at random. The decision of the Promoter (acting reasonably) will be final.
- Eligibility
The prize draw is only open to all residents in the UK except:
- employees or members of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies;
- employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
- members of the immediate families or households of those above.
In entering the prize draw, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
In entering the prize draw, you agree to participate in any reasonable publicity related to the prize draw which may include the publication of your name in any media. Further details can be found in clause 10 and the privacy policy within these terms and conditions.
The Promoter will not accept prize draw entries that are:
- incomplete or inaccurate;
- completed by third parties or in bulk; or
- illegible, forged or tampered with.
There is a limit of one entry per person.
The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify entrants whose conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize draw.
Prize draw entries cannot be returned.
The Promoter cannot be held responsible for submission emails that are not submitted by the Closing Time.
The Promoter reserves the right to verify any information provided in connection with any entry.
Entrants may be required to provide proof of identity and age.
- The prize draw
The prize is for one overnight stay, with breakfast, at the Royal Maritime Hotel in Portsmouth. Winners also receive two tickets to Spinnaker Tower and The D-Day Story.
The Promoters use of particular brands as prizes does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of such brands.
There is one prize and one winner.
The prize is not negotiable or transferable.
Prizes are subject to availability. There is no cash alternative for the prize. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value and without notice.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Promoter shall not be liable in any circumstances for any inaccurate prize details which are supplied to the entrant by any third party in connection with this prize draw.
- Winners
The decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
The Promoter will contact the winner as soon as practicable after the Closing Time using the email address provided within the prize draw entry form. The Promoter will not amend any contact information once the competition entry form has been submitted.
- Claiming the prize
The Promoter will provide the winner with contact details of the prize supplier and the winner and prize supplier will make arrangements for the date of when the prize can be used.
The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed the prize within 7 days of the notification from the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant randomly selected from the eligible entries that were received before the Closing Time.
The Promoter does not accept any liability for anyone unable to take up the prize.
- Limitation of liability
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, disappointment, personal injury or death occurring as a result of participating in the prize draw or taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
- Ownership of competition entries
All prize draw entry forms submitted to the Promoter will become the property of the Promoter on receipt and will not be returned.
- Data protection and publicity
The Promoter will only process personal information as set out in the Promoter's main privacy notice: https://www.portsmouth.gov.uk/services/council-and-democracy/transparency/data-protection-privacy-notice/.
- General
If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude anyone from participating in the competition.
The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize draw or these terms and conditions without prior notice where it becomes necessary to do so.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

The prize draw is run by the Visit Portsmouth team.
- What information is being collected and why
Name and email address, as a means of contacting the winning entrant (and to offer the chance to sign up for future updates via the Visit Portsmouth mailing list - the response to which will have no bearing on the eventual prize draw).
- Who the information will be shared with
The winning entrant will have their information shared with the organisations who have offered a prize for this competition, so that arrangements can be made to accommodate the winner.
- How that information will be kept secure
Appropriate steps will be taken to ensure that information is kept securely and only accessed by those who have a right to see it.
Information will not be kept longer than necessary.
