What is a Pickle Night?
Pickle Night honours the arrival of HMS Pickle in London, delivering news of the victory at Trafalgar and the death of Admiral Lord Nelson. This festive occasion celebrates the fastest ship at Trafalgar.
Event Highlights
- Entertainment: Your lively host will bring the Battle of Trafalgar to life with thrilling tales, sea shanties, and traditional naval banter. Audience participation is encouraged!
- Traditional Dining: Experience life below deck as you dine at authentic mess tables, enjoying a hearty two-course meal of beef or veggie stew, followed by a classic sticky toffee pudding.
- Drink Like a Sailor: Your meal includes a glass of IPA, wine, or a soft drink, along with a tot of rum for the traditional toast. Additional drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.
- Commemorative Toast: Raise a glass in honour of Pickle Night and take home a special keepsake glass as a treasured memento of your evening aboard HMS Warrior.
- Event Photography: A professional photographer will be capturing unforgettable moments throughout the night, including fun group shots. You’ll have the option to purchase your group photo on the night, which will be emailed to you after the event.
- Pop-Up Shop: Looking for the perfect souvenir? Our exclusive pop-up shop will be open onboard, offering a selection of naval memorabilia and fine rum.
Etiquette and fun
- Master at Arms: All proceedings will be led by our host, Martin Jakeman who plays the Master at Arms. He will set the evening's etiquette, communicated right from the start.
- Crew Roles: Experience the life of a sailor as attendees are organised into Gun Crews per table, each led by a Gun Captain. Each crew member will be assigned a specific role for the night.
- Dress Code: White trousers, blue and white striped top, straw boater hat with (optional) HMS Pickle cap tally.
