Portsmouth isn’t just a destination for human visitors, but plenty of bird life too! Brent geese, godwits and more travel thousands of miles to be here every year, as part of their annual migration. Many of them head to Farlington Marshes and Langstone Harbour, where the mud flats and still waters provide a rich habitat. These are just some of the city’s protected areas, where you are best placed to catch glimpses of nationally important flora and fauna.
