From heated pools to open water, swimming in Portsmouth is open to all. If you’re brave enough to face a dip in the Solent, there are plenty of open water swimmers in the local area who swear by the sea’s restorative powers – and the fact they all look a good decade younger than their years may well attest to it!

If that sounds a little too bracing, there are plenty of other options for going swimming in Portsmouth. We have fun pools (replete with slides and wave machines) for families, traditional swimming pools for those wanting to rack up the lengths, and outdoor splash pools that are a haven during summer months. There’s even a historic lido to enjoy outdoor swimming the way people have for generations.
