About

Given the current weather forecast the firework displays on 1 November have been altered as per below.

Southsea Common

A 20-minute display will take place from 7pm – 7:20pm. Additional entertainment and live music has been cancelled, but there will still be food & beverage options.

Alexandra Park

The display has been slightly reduced, due to health & safety concerns relating to forecasted strong winds. The display will take place from 7pm. Additional entertainment and live music has been cancelled, but there will still be food & beverage options.

Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather and ground conditions and leave the event after the display finishes, as high winds are forecast for later in the evening.

Those visiting Alexandra Park are advised to use Portsmouth Park and Ride - extra shuttles are to be put on for the evening.

There will be road closures in place around the Southsea event for the safety of visitors and motorists. Clarence Esplanade will temporarily close between Hovertravel and Avenue de Caen.

Note: there will be no bonfire at either event.

This event has been changed from its more typical location of King George V Playing Fields in Cosham to accommodate the ongoing building work there for a new football facility.
