Illustrations of faces of men who would have served aboard the Mary Rose

About

Join the Mary Rose Museum for a fascinating talk that delves into the lives of the men who served aboard Henry VIII's favourite warship. Who were they? What roles did they play? Where did they come from, and what does the museum's collection tell us about their lives?

The Mary Rose Museum is dedicated to the crew of Henry VIII's favourite warship, which was lost in 1545. What they left behind is a unique time capsule of Tudor life and the largest collection of Tudor objects in the world. This talk will explore what the collection reveals about the archers, carpenters, cooks, gunners, sailors and others who may have come from far flung places, but found themselves fighting together in the middle of the Battle of the Solent.

Please note, tickets are just for the 1 hour talk (you will require a valid Portsmouth Historic Dockyard ticket to enter the museum). If you would like to add a guided tour (90 min) to your visit with one of the museum's expert guides you can add one to your booking for a discounted rate of £15 per person.
