About
Takedown 2024 has been postponed until 2025 because of ongoing works at Portsmouth Guildhall. Tickets will be refunded and it's hoped many of the bands on the line up will return in 2025.
After an 8-year hiatus the festival, which had previously been held at Southampton University and Salisbury City Hall, was brought to Portsmouth in a brand-new partnership between The Guildhall Trust and Divergent Festivals. It featured over 40 bands across four stages in 10 hours of festival fun.
Now, the first line-up for 2024 has been revealed, featuring headliners Creeper and Dinosaur Pile-Up. Elsewhere on the line up there's ‘A’, Dreamstate, Kid Bookie, Snayx, Mimi Barks, Hell Is For Heroes, Stone Broken, BLACKGOLD, Dead Pony, Urne, Mason Hill and many more.
Last year saw heavy hitters of the rock and metal worlds Sleep Token and Skindred headline, with Loathe, Jamie Lenman, Punk Rock Factory, InMe, Palm Reader, Our Hollow Our Home, As December Falls, CLTDRP, Fearless Vampire Killers, The Bottom Line, Seething Akira and Dendera amongst the other bands to perform.
The incredible return for Takedown Festival was topped off with it being nominated for Best Small Festival, Best Metropolitan Festival and the Grassroots Festival Awards at 2023's UK Festival Awards.
