About

From beginners to improvers and competitive players, Southsea Tennis Club offers something for everyone. The club is superbly located on Southsea Common, close to the seafront opposite The D-Day Story.

There are six hard courts (three of which are floodlit for evening play) and four floodlit astro turf courts (for member use only). Non-members can book the hard courts on an hourly Pay and Play basis through the club’s website.

The on-site Clubhouse Cafe is open to both members and non members.

Membership

The membership year runs from 1 April to 31 March.

There are a range of memberships to suit different needs, with reduced prices available to Armed Forces personnel and Portsmouth Leisure Card holders.

Members enjoy the following benefits:

• A full social and tennis programme for the year.
• Free use of the hard and astro courts throughout the year.
• Free members’ social mix-in sessions during the week (Monday and Thursday afternoons, Thursday evenings, Saturday and Sunday mornings).
• Opportunities to join the club's men’s, ladies’ and mixed teams in the Portsmouth District summer and winter leagues.
• Members' discounts and special offers in the Clubhouse Cafe.

2025/26 membership fees

Adult: £150
Family (2 adults and up to 3 children, same household): £240
1 parent and 1 child: £170
Joint: £240
Student  (18+ in full-time education): £40

Social membership: £20

Monthly payment plans are available.

Membership offers great value for money if you like to play regularly. If you played even once a week, membership could save you around £150 a year on the Pay and Play price.
