A child holding up a sword, for Medieval Mayhem at Fort Nelson

About

Charge up to Fort Nelson this May half-term holiday for a barrel-load of medieval mayhem and fun activities!

Medieval-themed activities will include a Knight’s Quest trail, dragon hunt, hobby horse jousting and medieval dress-up.

'Arming the Knight' demonstrations will take place, showing how a knight was armed from head to toe in mail to make him the ultimate warrior. Plus, special handling sessions of arms and armour will also be held.

Medieval Mayhem takes place from Monday 26 to Friday 30 May. All activities are free but tickets need to be booked in advance as spaces are limited.

Fort Nelson, right on Portsmouth’s doorstep, is a fun day out for all the family. Go along to explore the Victorian fort with its tunnel, ramparts, and outdoor space, as well as a museum of treasures to discover.

There are lots of picnic benches around the site, and the café and refreshment kiosk is open every day for light meals, snacks and drinks.
