Southsea Sound is a top-quality rehearsal and recording studio located just off the bustling Albert Road.

The professional and fully equipped studio is a safe haven and creative space used by beginners and professionals alike. There are two rehearsal rooms to choose from, both of which are fully air conditioned and have all the essentials (PA, microphones, cabs and drum shells). They were each built using salvaged, eco-friendly materials where possible.

Room 1 (downstairs) is best suited for heavier bands, and the super-dry acoustics show where improvements can be made. Room 2 (upstairs) has a higher ceiling and livelier sound. As this is where recordings are done and intimate gigs performed, it's the ideal space for honing material.

As well as rehearsal space, Southsea Sound offers a professional and extensive recording, mixing and mastering service. As well as a supportive and nurturing environment you can expect an incredible finished product, with the team not only boasting 50 years of combined industry experience but also the finest analogue and digital equipment.

All needs and requirements are catered for, with options for music production, video creation, voiceovers, podcasts and more, alongside the more traditional music recording.

Southsea Sound also offers numerous micro events and workshops all year round, from intimate gigs to DJ sets and inclusive classes. The team works hard to be an integral part of Portsmouth lively local music scene, working to put on gigs at many other local pubs and venues, showcasing the best in up-and-coming bands from the city, as well as the wider South Coast.
