What would a city break be without hitting up the shops? Whether you want high street staples, big-brand bargains, quirky vintage gear or something else entirely, you’ll find it all when you go shopping in Portsmouth.

Gunwharf Quays is among the biggest draws to the area, with over 90 premium outlets (plus bars, restaurants and more) sending people flocking to Portsmouth from miles around.

In Portsmouth City Centre you’ll find all your high street favourites, with a few independents thrown in for good measure. It’s easily reachable by train, bus or car, and has all the big-name shops you know and love.

It’s a more boutique affair over in Southsea, meanwhile. Here you’ll find smaller independent shops, alongside a selection of high street favourites. It’s also the location for a number of great markets.

Head up to Port Solent for shopping on the marina. Enjoy a relaxed pace – you have all the time in the world, as there’s unlimited free parking too!

Or, if you want a shopping experience that’s different to what you can get in any other destination across the country, head to Portsmouth’s independent stores. There’s everything from chocolate to clothes, homeware to haberdashery.
