The Remembrance Centre has been set up to display artefacts, reproduction exhibits and memorabilia from World War One. It features a memorial centre and walk-through trench system. Additionally there are occasional lectures on Ypres and The Somme. The on-site shop and reception has items for sale and offers the chance to book battlefield tours of The Somme, France or Ypres, Belgium.
Features in the centre are:
Display rooms and corridors with real artefacts and reproduction exhibits
All Quiet on the Western Front room with walk-through reconstruction trench system
Memorial srea plus other displays and pictures
Monthly temporary exhibitions covering aspects of the Great War
The centre is run by a small dedicated team of volunteers. We try to open as often as possible between the following hours but this cannot be guaranteed: Tuesday-Sunday, 11am to last entry at 3pm.
Adults - £3
School parties and Youth groups: teachers/leaders go free, pupils £3 each
It's strongly recommended that visitors call ahead to ensure the centre is open. Contact 02392 798751 to request more details.
