About

Join Hatch, the ship’s dog, as he leads you through the Mary Rose museum on a multi-sensory exploration covering the story of the ship, her crew, and the Tudor world.

Pick up a free trail sheet at the start of your visit, then Hatch will help guide you through the galleries and encourage your family to explore the sights, sounds and even smells of the Mary Rose!

Check out the Tudor chests filled with authentic replicas, including a pomander (used to cover-up stinky smells!) and even a nit comb!

Become a Tudor with the dressing-up boxes and take a selfie sitting in the museum's throne.

Explore the smells of the Mary Rose with mystery canisters full of sixteenth century aromas.

Have a go at excavating replica Tudor objects – just like a member of the Mary Rose dive team.

Explore the world of cooking and food at sea – dare you stick your hand into the Cook’s barrel?

Have a go at pulling a replica bow and picking up a pike.

Get Hatch’s seal of approval once you’ve finished the trail with a paw print stamp!

Between 25th May – 3rd June kids can also receive a free Hatch sticker – pick this up in the shop when you’ve completed your trail.
