About

Portsmouth & Gosport History Week is a local celebration of culture, heritage and traditions. Take a trip back through in time with a host of history-inspired activities, events and projects.

History Week was established to promote, protect and support the historical places of interest in our local area. It creates awareness of the immensely valuable work undertaken by local groups and organisations, and supports them in their future endeavours.

Archaeological experts will lead an exploration of the hidden, murky, and sometime quirky history of the area, as revealed through their archaeological investigation, research and expertise. From photography tours to film screenings, specialist talks, and hands-on family activities, there is a range of events to suit all interests.
