HAF Fun Pompey is a series of events taking place across the city, to offer schoolchildren Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) over the Easter break.
Organised by Portsmouth City Council and the Play Youth Community Portsmouth - with funding from the Department for Education - HAF Fun Pompey offers a fun and inclusive programme of events running from 6 to 16 April inclusive.
The programme is designed for all school-aged children from 4 –16 years old and is free to those who receive benefits-related free school meals. Events include a whole host of varied activities, from sport to Lego, performing arts to ‘Dining with Dickens’; watersports to cooking classes. Most will be face-to-face but others will be virtual.

Event: CM Sports Performance
Date: Tuesday 6 - Friday 9 and Monday 12 - Friday 16 (8.30am - 4.30pm)
Location: Mayfield School, Mayfield Road, PO2 0RH.
Details: A club for learning new performance skills and repertoire from various plays and musical productions. Participants will enjoy singing, dancing and acting, together with team games and competitions.
Food: Hot 2-course meal with multiple choices each day.

Event: CM Sports Active Club
Date: Tuesday 6 - Friday 9 and Monday 12 - Friday 16 (8am - 3.30pm)
Location: Mayfield School, Mayfield Road, PO2 0RH or St John's Cathedral Catholic Primary School, Cottage View, Landport, PO1 1PX.
Details: An Active Club featuring everything from sports coaching sessions to arts & crafts, team-building games, and individual challenges. Hot 2-course meal with multiple choices each day.

Event: Family Cooking and Activities with The Good Grub Club
Date: Wednesday 7 and Wednesday 14 April
Location: Packs will be delivered to homes within the Landport and Charles Dickens areas after booking.
Details: Families take part in the project from their own home – packs can be delivered to those in the Landport and Charles Dickens areas of Portsmouth only.

Event: Secret Supplies with Secret Agent Noor, from The D-Day Story
Date: Friday 9 (10-11am or 11.30am-12.30pm)
Location: Online sessions and arrange pick up of supplies when booking.
Details: In preparation for D-Day many secret spies parachuted in to France. They would have to be ready to fight tiredness and overcome exhaustion. Food was vital in helping spies such as Noor who undertook extensive training to prepare for being on the fighting front. Mrs Cox from the Women’s Voluntary Service will share stories of brave men and women who carried on determinedly to defeat Nazi occupation.

Event: Sugar Sandwiches with Shirley, from The D-Day Story
Date: Thursday 8 (10 - 11am or 11.30am - 12.30pm)
Location: Online sessions and arrange pick up of food when booking.
Details: Meet Mrs Cox part of the Women’s Voluntary Service in the Second World War. She will share stories of food on the home front and how to make do and mend on wartime rations. Be prepared to find out ways of making the most of rations. Tasting how in tough times people did their best to make treats. This participatory workshop can be done from the comfort of your own home and will help give you a unique insight in to family food and diet over 80 years ago.

Event: Pompey Cook-a-long with Pompey in the Community
Date: Tuesday 7 - Friday 9 and Wednesday 14 - Friday 16 (10am - 2pm)
Location: Pompey in the Community, Anson Road, PO4 8TB.
Details: Learn to cook fun and nutritious food in Pompey in the community’s state of the art kitchen classroom. As well as cooking your own lunch, you will also cook some tasty goodies to take home and share.
Age group: 7-15

Event: Easter Food and Fun at Home with the Salvation Army
Date: Tuesday 6 & Wednesday 7, Tuesday 13 & Wednesday 14
Location: Delivered to your door or collect from Portsmouth Salvation Army, Lake Road, PO1 4HA.
Details: An Easter pack delivered to your door. Ingredients to enjoy cooking lunches and dinners for three days with help from our healthy veggie characters. Plus, get out and about with a Spring Treasure Hunt, enjoy some Easter crafts and a few extra surprises.

Event: YMCA Portsmouth Day Camps
Date: Tuesday 6 - Friday 9 and Monday 12 - Thursday 15 (9am - 5pm)
Location: Charter Community Sports Centre, Greetham Street, PO5 4LH.
Details: Multi-activity day camps, including sports, games, arts & crafts, and a hot lunch & snacks.

Event: Sports, Games & Activities with Active8 Minds After School Clubs
Date: Tuesday 6 - Friday 9 and Monday 12 - Friday 16 (8am - 5.30pm)
Location: Newbridge Junior School PO2 7RW, Meon Junior School PO4 8NT, or Highbury Primary School PO6 2RZ.
Details: Variety of indoor/outdoor sports games and activities. Food offered is a choice of jacket potato with fillings, picnic lunchbox or pasta bolognaise. All served with a piece of fruit and a cookie.

Event: Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre Easter HAF Fun Pompey
Date: Tuesday 6 - Friday 9 and Monday 12 - Friday 16 April (9.30am-4.30pm)
Location: Andrew Simpson Centre, Portsmouth, Eastern Road, PO3 5LY.
Details: Multi-activity water and land based adventurous sports (kayak, SUP, sailing, climbing, high ropes, archery, team building games) including lunch.

Event: Easter Play Scheme with Farlington Wrap Around Service

Details: A range of activities for children from schools across Portsmouth; fun, exciting, and stimulating things to do both indoors and out.

Event: Go Active Camp with John Pounds Centre
Date: Monday 12 - Friday 16 (8am - 3.30pm)
Location: John Pounds Centre, Queens Street, PO1 3HN or St Paul's Primary School, Bourne Road, Paulsgrove, PO6 4JD.
Details: The John Pounds Centre's aim is to develop physical, personal and social skills through a variety of activities as well as games that focus on developing communication skills and physical challenges. The programme enables children to work at their own pace with personalised challenges that will give the individual a positive outlook on PE and participation in sport.

Event: Football with Pompey in the Community
Date: Tuesday 6 - Friday 9 and Monday 12 - Friday 16 (9.30am - 3pm)
Location: Playfootball Portsmouth, 442 Copnor Road, Hilsea, PO3 5EW.
Details: Football activities and sessions, with a healthy packed lunch plus snacks and drinks.

Event: Easter Drama Workshops with The Young Creatives Portsmouth
Date: Tuesday 6 - Friday 9 and Monday 12 - Friday 16 (9.30am - 2.30pm)
Location: New Theatre Royal, 20-24 Guildhall Walk PO1 2DD or Medina Primary School, Medina Road, Cosham, PO6 3HR.
Details: New Theatre Royal – Act for stage and camera, bring scripts to life using costumes and props. Medina School – Bringing the stories of Supertato to life using puppetry, stage combat and green screen acting.
