About
This summer, Gunwharf Quays hosts a custom-built mini golf course, combining the ever-popular seaside pasttime with the world of high art.
Not only will the course be unlike anything visitors are likely to have seen before, it also marks the first time a mini golf activity has been available at Gunwharf Quays in its 23-year history.
Update: Art & Putt has been extended and will now remain open until 22 September.
This unique experience will take around 45 minutes to complete, with tickets costing £5 per person. It promises to be a unique course, with an immersive experience where each hole pays homage to an iconic artist.
From vibrant pop-art such as Andy Warhol’s ‘Campbell’s Soup Cans’, to surrealist landscapes by Salvador Dalí, the course will take guests on a journey through art history. Every hole will offer a unique golfing challenge, alongside information on each artist’s work and legacy.
The creative installation will teach participants about the following nine artists:
Jean-Michel Basquiat
Salvador Dalí
Keith Haring
David Hockney
Frida Kahlo
Jeff Koons
Yayoi Kusama
Bridget Riley
Andy Warhol
This spectacular addition is completely new for Gunwharf Quays and brings a different, more experiential dimension to the centre's leisure offering. The course is expected to become a must-see destination for tourists visiting Portsmouth this summer, alongside the local community of regular guests to Gunwharf Quays.
