A touring exhibition from the V&A Theatre Collection.

Harry Hammond (1920-2009) was the first great photographer of British Rock ‘n’ Roll. Starting in the late 1940s, he captured the definitive images of virtually every leading British musician from Cliff Richard and Shirley Bassey to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, as well as those of many visiting American artists including Buddy Holly and Little Richard.

This exhibition of over 100 photographs by Harry Hammond from the V&A collection captures the emergence of British Rock. Includes three interactive exhibits and a collection of original Portsmouth pop memorabilia.

Bus numbers 6, 700 will stop in the High Street Old Portsmouth which is a 2 minute walk to the museum. Bus numbers 5, 21, stop in Museum Road outside the museum.

Portsmouth Harbour train station is a 10 minute walk to the museum.
