Hover Open Day

The first Hover Open Day will be taking place on Saturday 18th August. The day will consist of briefings from Pilots and Engineers, guided tours of the craft and a special 20 minute pleasure trip on the Solent, all for a very special price of £16 per adult and £10 per child. This is a unique chance to see behind the scenes at Hovertravel and to understand how our operation works.

There are 2 sessions for the Open Day:

11.15am until 13.00pm
14.15pm until 16.00pm

Seats are limited so book now to avoid disappointment!!

The itinerary for the sessions is below:
1) 'Meet the Pilot' on the craft - Introduction to Hovertravel, Brief History of Hovertravel, Question & Answer session plus the chance to collect a free 40th anniversary booklet
2) A 20 minute pleasure ride which will start by heading east past Southsea Castle, turning around the famous round forts, then up to Portsmouth Harbour entrance before returning to Southsea
3) An opportunity to take a photo with the Pilot & Engineer
4) Opportunity to purchase specially discounted Hovertravel Souvenirs & take a look at the mini-museum display
5) External tour of the Hovercraft with an Engineer, followed by a further Q&A session.

With every ticket purchase, you will be entered into the 'Golden Ticket Raffle' where the winner will receive a Flight Deck Experience during the 20 minute pleasure trip.

To book your tickets, call our Hovertravel terminals on 08434 87 88 87 or alternatively visit our terminals where our staff will be able to book you on the open day.

Terms and Conditions

Tickets are non refundable and non transferable. Children are aged between 5-15 years of age. Customers visiting from the Island must purchase a day return ticket unless they already have their travel ticket. We are unable to use the wheelchair lift throughout the open day sessions due to health and safety.
