Dundas Meadow

Dundas Meadow

Dundas Meadow is about 0.5 kilometres from Langstone Harbour, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and part of the Chichester and Langstone Harbours Special Protection Area. Accordingly designated under the European Union 'Wild Birds Directive' the harbour is recognised as of international importance on account of its wader and wildfowl populations. Dundas Meadow is one of a number of sites of nature conservation importance, as its short grassland is used for feeding purposes for large numbers of Brent Geese which winter in the harbour. Wading birds such as Oystercatchers and Redshank also visit the site at high tide. Please be aware that the flock size, and frequency of use by Brent Geese and waders,is affected by levels of human disturbance.
