Discover more about the role that Portsmouth Royal Dockyard played during the 18th and 19th centuries when it was the greatest industrial complex in the world, drawing heavily on steam to remain at the leading edge of technology. The famous Block Mills on site were the first steam powered factory system in the world.
Costumed re-enactors will interact with the crowds and a variety of steam engines will be on display throughout the event including a number of traction engines, road locomotives, miniatures, steam boats, model railways and steam fairground attractions.
Follow signs for 'Historic Waterfront' and 'Historic Dockyard'. The Dockyard's car park is off of Queen Street on Admiralty Road.
Portsmouth Harbour train station and The Hard Interchange bus station are just a 5 minute walk from the Dockyard.
